About Johnny Maxwell

Johnny caught his first smallmouth bass at the age of 4 and has been hooked on fishing ever since. He has won over 50 local bass tournaments on Wheeler, Wilson, Pickwick, Guntersville and Smith Lake during his fishing career and placed in the money in well over 100. He is one of only a handful of men to ever catch 3 smallmouth bass that topped 8 pounds, 7 other smallmouth bass over 7 pounds, largemouth exceeding 10 pounds, many spotted bass exceeding 5 pounds,  2 Shoal Bass that at the time exceeded the Alabama State Record, multiple other giant fish of just about every species that inhabits our local waters. Johnny is an innovator and holds several patents for fishing related products and has both fishing and boating related inventions forged from his career as an engineer. In 2019 Johnny was inducted into the AE Engineers Legends Hall of Fame at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. His company was awarded Small Business of the Year honors in Huntsville, AL in 1995. Johnny was a 2-time finalist as Businessman of the Year honors by the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce. Johnny wants people to get back to having fun fishing again like he had growing up. That is why he chose to concentrate on fishing for whatever he thinks is fun, big, challenging, and sometimes just different. He would love to pass that passion on to the next generation. He was recently recognized by the Alabama State Legislature for his work as a humanitarian and His hometown awarded him the first ever Spirit of Priceville award for which he is very proud.

From kids catching their first fish to seasoned anglers chasing a personal best, everyone leaves feeling like they learned something and had a great time.
